In the Magazines
            Introduction
Magazines are an excellent means to understand society of the times. This is particularly true during
wartime, when magazines carry feature articles, editorials, letters to the editor, and advertisements that
relate to what is happening at home and abroad during the fighting. (LIFE magazine, for instance, carried
dozens of articles and hundreds of photographs of the Korean War.)
One need only glance through the Readers' Guide to Periodical Literature to discover hundreds of articles
from A to Z about all aspects of the Korean War. To assist researchers and to help scholars and the general
public understand the Korean War, this page of the Korean War Educator carries a sampling of magazine
articles verbatim, as well as an overview of LIFE magazine's coverage of the Korean War.
